What we can see from the tree is the high homology existent among the different isoforms of each cdk, even if they belong to diverse species. In addition, we have detected the existance of certain proteins which are called ith different names in the databases, but appear to have a high homology with some of the well stablished cdk in the most studied organisms. Such is the case of the cdk homologues in Caernohabditis elegans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Even more interesting are the results about the Fugu fish. The sequences aligned are clearly homologues to the cdk 2/5
To sum up, as obviously expected and already publish in previous reports, the sequence of these key proteins has been really well mantained during the Evolution trend, which can be interpreted in terms of the extremely important role that these proteins play in the control of the cell cycle.
